There are two types of Argan Oil, food grade oil and cosmetic oil. The first, edible Argan oil which is usually used in preparing food and the main ingredient of amlou, is dark brown in color and has a strong taste, due to the roasting of the argan tree nuts before the oil is extracted from them, and the second one, is the cosmetic Argan Oil which is light brown in color due to the oil extraction from the Argan tree nuts without roasting. It is used as a skin moisturizer.
Characteristics of edible oil :
This oil has a taste that combines the tastes of almonds and hazelnuts, and it has many benefits at the level of connective tissue and controlling the level of cholesterol in the body.
Cosmetic oil properties :
This oil has been used since ancient times by Berber women as a moisturizer for dry skin and as an anti-wrinkle, because it contains essential fatty acids, omega-6 and omega-9.
